New Jersey Brick Township sets ebike rules to address road safety accidents. The e-bike regulation were introduced on November 26, 2024, and are set to take effect shortly thereafter.
Definition of e-bike: The ordinance defines a low-speed e-bike as a two- or three-wheeled vehicle with fully operable pedals and an electric motor with a maximum power output of 750W. These e-bikes are divided into Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes:

Class 1: An e-bike that provides assistance only when the rider pedals and stops assisting when it reaches 20 mph.

Class 2: An e-bike that is powered only by an electric motor but also stops assisting at 20 mph.
