I received my bike yesterday and on unboxing/assembly I discovered that the chain was off the front sprocket and tangled around the derailleur jockey cogs. I have attempted untangling the chain but fails to align with the upper jockey cog./ guide. I don’t own a bike stand so pedalling to reposition the chain might cause damage to an otherwise immaculate machine.
I am technically competent but it has been 50+ years since my bike tinkering days and things have changed enormously.
Is this the normal way of shipping, ie with the chain disengaged? If so what is the easiest way to fix the issue. A list of steps would be handy.
I feel really disappointed after such an excellent customer experience and hope that it is an easy fix.
