At our Salt Lake City flagship store, we’re seeing a massive trend: almost every new owner is asking to add Tannus Armour inserts on top of our stock tires.
Our bikes already come with puncture-resistant fat tires designed for heavy terrain. So, is the extra layer a “must-have” for peace of mind, or just a waste of money?
The Trade-off:
-
The Pro: 15mm of extra foam defense against the “Goat Head” thorns common in Utah, plus the ability to ride home on a flat without ruining your rims. -
The Con: It adds roughly 2 lbs of rotating weight to your wheels, which can slightly impact your range and acceleration.
What’s your take?
-
Do you swear by the “Double Protection” of Tannus?
-
Or do you trust our stock puncture-resistant tires to handle the job alone?
I’m taking your feedback directly to our product team. Let’s settle this below!
