1. Downtown Trail

  • Starting Location: Mammoth Mountain Adventure Center
  • Distance: 2 miles
  • Rider Level: Beginner
  • Scenic Highlights: This trail winds through pine forests with panoramic views of the Eastern Sierra and surrounding mountains. It’s a smooth, flowy path with gentle slopes, making it perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a leisurely ride.

2. Off the Top Trail

  • Starting Location: Mammoth Mountain Summit (lift-access required)
  • Distance: 6 miles
  • Rider Level: Intermediate
  • Scenic Highlights: Beginning at the summit,this trail provides amazing views of the Sierra range, featuring wide vistas of sharp peaks and deep valleys. The path is mostly smooth but has some switchbacks and easy technical sections, making for an exciting descent with plenty of scenic stops along the way.

3. Brake Through Trail

  • Starting Location: Midway along the gondola route
  • Distance: 3 miles
  • Rider Level: Intermediate
  • Scenic Highlights: This trail has well-designed berms, jumps, and some moderate climbs, offering a variety of scenery from lush alpine meadows to open areas with mountain views. It’s perfect for riders who enjoy a mix of smooth paths and slightly technical features.

4. Skid Marks Trail

  • Starting Location: Mammoth Mountain Summit (accessed via the gondola or Chair 23 lift)
  • Distance: Approximately 3 miles
  • Rider Level: Advanced
  • Scenic Highlights: Skid Marks is one of Mammoth’s longest and most challenging trails, famous for its steep descent and rocky sections. It starts near the summit, offering stunning, clear views of the Eastern Sierra, including rugged peaks, alpine valleys, and vast forests below. As riders go down, they face loose shale, rocky areas, and sharp turns, making it a tough ride that demands good bike handling skills.
